The mortal remains of James Essien, the late father of Chelsea and Black Stars player Michael Essien, have been laid to rest. The ceremony took place over the weekend in Awutu Breku, the part of the Central Region where the player comes from.
Essien enjoyed massive support from the football fraternity, with the rites being attended by the likes of Abedi Pele and wife Maha, Stephen Appiah, Augustine Ahinful among others.
